She stepped into work at 60, after losing her life partner. Not a retreat. A beginning. Quiet, steady, on her own terms. Is an entrepreneur running her school starting with single digit students to having 250 plus today. She is an active Environmentalist, mentor to women community in her steel town of Durgapur. Her school has created employment as teachers for aspiring women who did not have this opportunity. The passion of the staff with she at the helm at 73 years of age is infectious. Her name leads this firm. Because she deserves to go first.

A world away, yet always present. My “PhD mamma” who kept pushing, kept believing and ensuring that I complete my journey with pride. She is the Aar, the light, the name moves toward. Her name means first rays of dawn. She lives it.

At 86, four surgeries behind her in last 3 plus years. Still showing up every day. She is woven into the name quietly- the way she has always been present. Steady. Unhurried. Finding possibility in every morning, and being in-charge of her world.
